Changes

Blair has found work! He's been working for the last 4 or 5 weeks at Beehive Clothing, he is the new Quality Control Facilitator. We are so very, very happy and grateful! We are also about to move! We've found a great apartment in Taylorsville, it comes with a pool, hooray! It's by far the nicest apartment we will have lived in, I'm very excited! Our lease here is up on the 30th this month but unfortunately we can't move in until July 10th. Blair's parents have been kind enough to take us and all of our stuff in until then, they are so great! These are truly the greatest changes and answers to our prayers in every way.

I'm a little late with this update mostly because we've had a rough time adjusting. His shift is from 6am to 2:30, with close to an hour commute each way. I know that I have absolutely nothing to complain about, Blair is home by 3:30 everyday and we still have so much time to spend together. He has no homework or phone calls to make, when he's home from work he's just home. This just happened so fast. Blair interviewed for this job on a Friday, May 18th and began work on Monday, May 21st. I guess I wasn't ready for it.

I ran into this same problem when Gavin was about 3 months old and Blair started school again. I really, really struggle being home alone with the baby. I don't like knowing that I don't contribute to our finances anymore. I feel like I don't have enough motivation to do anything, like I know I should run errands but its easier to stay home, I don't want to be home but it's just so hard to go anywhere with a baby...How do I get out of this cycle?? The day Blair interviewed (before he found out he had got it) we had just decided it was time to get serious about Gavin's eating, as in no more baby food. Gavin was starting to wake up in the middle of the night because baby food doesn't hold him long enough and he just wasn't getting enough variety. Blair got the job which left the task, mostly, up to me. Gavin is STUBBORN. And picky. And it is the most frustrating thing ever to get him to eat. Blair felt bad and told me he didn't get the job on purpose :-) I love my husband and I miss him. And adjusting to being a stay at home mom is harder than I ever thought it would be.

I am happy to say that a lot has improved in just the last week. Gavin is doing better eating, not much, but right now any improvement is huge. Blair is much more comfortable with his work and slowly we're all adjusting to his new hours. Earlier bedtimes, etc. Blair and I as a couple are trying to improve ourselves by bettering our communication and our devotion to our Heavenly Father. He's given us so much. I'm also learning to just enjoy Gavin. He has the silliest personality and I love that I get to see him grow and learn every single day. The changes in our lives are for the better. As grateful as we were for the programs the state offers to help out in hard times, it is 100% better to be self sufficient. The help we received from family and friends while Blair was unemployed was incredible and we can't thank everyone enough. We plan to pay it forward someday! We love you all!

The loves of my life!

Gavin is looking for variety. Try alternating between grilled, fried, and teriyaki for his sirloin steak and baked potatoes. You are a great mom!

You have a great attitude about the assistance your growing family received in time of need: pay it forward! I believe that is the best 'charity' that can ever be given. Figure out how much a housekeeper and sitter would cost and then realize just how much you ARE contributing to your finances.

I agree with the above comment 100%.
Yes it is a different life but so many moms would pay anything to be a full time stay at home mom. You have SO much influence in Gavin's life by being home. Especially the first 5-6 years of his life when he's learning and developing so rapidly. I am glad to hear things are going great!!

Anniversary!
