Moving. Is. Hard. It's taken us a long time to recover from this move mostly because we didn't feel as prepared for it as we have in the past. It was hard to make concrete preparations when we knew we had to stay somewhere for 10 days prior to moving in AND try to find people to help when the real moving day was on a Tuesday. I was stressed out. It may have contributed to how long this darn cold has lasted. I don't know. Do believe me when I say that we love it here even if my excitement level is low. The most frustrating part for me moving this time is knowing that our lease is only 7 months long which means - another move. Of course we can extend if we decide but it only prolongs the inevitable. I hope and pray and hope and pray our next move is into our dream house, the place we'll stay for good!
Anyway. We really do love our new apartment! It is by far the nicest apartment we've lived in, it feels more like a house! Brand new paint, nice carpet, 2 bathrooms, central air, a dishwasher, a real hallway - it's lovely. It also has more storage space than we've ever had! We found a new couch which I'm having a hard time loving. It's just not as comfortable as our blue one, but it does look really nice. The complex has a pool and hot tub and is quite possibly the only pet free smoke free complex in all of Salt Lake. It's SO much closer to Blair's work, it became a 15 minute commute rather than 45. We do miss being as close as we were to all our family, but I am extremely grateful that it's really not that far. We are very, very happy here!
Despite all my complaining, the move here actually went very smooth. Blair and I had nearly everything packed and ready to go Monday night. Tuesday afternoon my dad, Blair's dad, my sister, and me all caravaned up and began unpacking. Blair met up with us after work pretty soon after. Gavin got to stay with Grandma Gibb, lucky boy! We had everything completely unloaded within an hour or so, it really went off without a hitch. The next morning as I was standing in the disaster that was our apartment my sister called to see if we could use a hand. We worked and worked and got entirely unpacked and almost everything organized. She was a lifesaver! We are so grateful to every single person who helped us pull this off. Our prayers were answered in every way, thank you all!

Yes, moving is not fun. But you did land in a pretty sweet spot, and we were (and always are)glad to help however we can.
Moving sucks. End of statement. At least your "homeless" time frame was short, and you landed in a nice spot. Don't be afraid to extend you lease......you'll know when it's time to buy, and not rent.
