Labor Day Weekend!

Long weekends are superb. With Blair working regularly again we were so anxious to find some fun things to do and to spend a lot of time together. On Saturday we had some great friends over for lunch (their treat, how cool is that??) and we got to catch up. It's been so long since we've seen them so it was really awesome! Thanks Andrew and CaSaundra for coming! That evening we were able to spend some time with my family, my Grandma Black in particular. We just don't see her often enough and I'm sad we weren't able to get some pictures of her with our baby. I really hope we'll get another chance, she is the sweetest! On Monday we got to go to the Natural History Museum of Utah on the University of Utah's campus and it was fascinating! We loved it! Well, at least Blair and I did. I wish we could have planned a little better, we were kind of there right during Gavin's usual nap time, oops. He actually did really well though. Give this kid a new place to explore and he's happy as can be! It was a beautiful day, but so bright that Gavin wouldn't look -
The U's campus is gorgeous and the building was so cool. Blair's favorite exhibit and one of mine as well was the Past Worlds exhibit. It boggles my mind at how large these animals were. The far left is a short-faced bear, the large middle is a mammoth, and on the right is a large bison. So crazy.

Who needs to ride when you can push?? He did this almost the entire time, what a helper!
Gavin all but refused to walk here, the glass floor made his so nervous! Silly Boy!
This part was Gavin's favorite! He loved the water and the fish, he could have stayed here the whole time!
I think the exhibit I enjoyed the most was called Native Voices. It was a history and timeline of the Native Americans in Utah and surrounding areas, their struggles and their triumphs. I found it so fascinating. My Aunt Lisa on my mom's side is Navajo and their way of life intrigues me, I love learning about it!

How can you tell you've had a great day? When you are completely, 100% exhausted...
We enjoyed the museum so much! We love to learn about the world that surrounds us, it is filled with so much beauty! We hope you all had an excellent Labor Day weekend as well!
