Moab/St. George Trip!

So, I have seriously started blogging about this trip about 4 different times. I think though that I'm finally able to do so without interruptions. Gavin is sleeping, the house is clean, and I'm in the blogging mood. 

Perfect.

We were able to take a trip! It doesn't happen often, so this is very exciting news! On Thursday, April 25th, Blair got off work a little early and we left for Moab. We love Moab. We were there about the same time of year back in 2010 and it is by far one of our most favorite trips! This one was different because we had Gavin with us, but I think that (except for the car ride) he made it better. He loved it! 

We got into town around 7 and after we checked in, we went straight to the park. 

Our first stop was Sand Dune Arch

   And yes, Blair really is on top of the arch because he is just that cool.

It was incredible! The whole area is surrounded by sand, its like the beach. Gavin wasn't fond of the sand, it was pretty hard to walk in. He loved the rocks though, he'll be a climber, just like his dad!

He liked to sit and stand on the rocks. He called this one a "slide, slide" over and over

 Hahaha!

We had an awesome evening! The next morning we got up and got to the park as quickly as we could, so around 10:30ish. Yes, we move slow, but hey, we were on vacation :-) 

Our first stop was Double Arch

This was Gavin pretty much the entire time we were there,

squatting down to pick up his "rots" (rocks) then he would throw it and say "ba-bye rots!"

We hiked up the trail a little ways to get to Turret Arch next. This one is a favorite!

Gavin gained a lot of confidence watching Blair climb...

And the rest of the time spent here was me following Gavin around, and Blair climbing into places that he probably shouldn't. Talk about a nervous mommy! Gavin loved the walk back down, he is so full of personality and I love it! He would run and jump, find places to sit and proudly show me his new "seat!" He loves to be outside, it was a great place to take him!

From Moab, we left to spend the rest of the weekend in St. George with my sister Crystal and her family and my parents in a huge rental home. It was a blast - once we got there! It was a looooong drive! 

The place has a pool and Gavin still talks constantly about the "poo", yes, the "poo". It took a while to figure out what he was saying because obviously, he's saying poo. Silly boy.

We had a fabulous weekend and it was sooooo needed. Our weeks tend to be the same, over and over again, so we felt quite rejuvenated! 

We're ready to go again!
