Summertime

I can't believe summer is coming to an end. Time flies. This summer had a lot of potential to be so much fun, but we just didn't do as much as I had hoped. We had the Pass of all Passes and I was so excited to go to 7 Peaks every weekend. We went twice. We wanted to go to Thanksgiving Point every Tuesday for their $2 days this month and we didn't. The only trip we had planned was kind of a bust. It was just a difficult, kind of frustrating summer.
I had really really hoped that Gavin would just love 7 Peaks, but with the crowds and the noise he was so uncomfortable, poor boy. He also accidentally went all the way under when Blair took him down his first slide. That was a sad thing! I guess it kind of ruined him for the rest of it. He did however, love the pool in our complex and I'm soooo glad! He loved jumping off the 3, 4 and 5 feet signs and he absolutely loved splashing and climbing up and down the steps! He was adorable to say the least!
One thing that we did a lot of this summer was spend time with family and that is one of my most favorite things. We sent my baby brother off on his mission at the beginning of August. It was emotional and hard to see him leave, but I cannot tell you how proud and happy we are for him! With him going we tried to take each opportunity we had to get together with our whole family. We had a day at the lake and had dinners together, lots of games and visiting. It was great! One of the best days was when he went through the temple. Both of my parents and all 7 siblings were together. It was incredible. I love my family so much.
We got to spend a lot of time with Blair's family as well. We got to visit with Deidre and her kiddo's while they were in town and Gavin still talks about them almost every day! We got to see Summer's family and celebrate a birthday, Gavin also talks about you guys too! We got to meet the newest member of the family, Kyle's puppy. He is adorable!
We did snap a very few pictures, sorry they're not too exciting. That's kind of the way we've rolled this summer though!
Gavin, thoroughly enjoying his ice cream on my birthday!
Lisa, enjoying her very large bowl of watermelon. I LOVE watermelon!
Blair, getting some cavities filled (probably the most exciting thing ever)

(Sorry love, I needed a picture of you!)
Even if we didn't get to do any of the things I was hoping for, I would say the time with family makes up for it. We are so grateful for our families and we love them!
Blair has now started school and our schedules have completely changed once again. I'm glad we'll have Labor Day weekend to kind of catch our breath and settle in. It's an exciting, stressful time!
Maybe next summer we'll have more news, pictures and hopefully more excitement!
