I know this is late but it's not for a lack of trying! Blogger has been really weird and I haven't been able to add pictures. It's working right now, so lets hope it continues! Our Christmas was so wonderful last year. Gavin was the most perfect age! He loved helping us set up our tree and all the decorations
As we were going through everything we found the glass bird I got for my 12th birthday, his name is Mike and Gavin was obsessed with him! It was so funny!
Gavin was fascinated with the presents under the tree. He understood that we couldn't open them until "Chwimas day" and he was very good about not playing with them. Ever morning he would get up and ask me or Blair to turn on the "colors" (lights) and then he would sit and count each present.
"One two thwee pwesents. Mommy's Daddy's Gavin's pwesents." One morning after doing this he asked "Mommy, where's baby gigi's (girl's) pwesent?"
Isn't that the sweetest? This was the first time he'd acknowledged her on his own and it almost made me cry. I love him so much!
For 5 out of the 6 Christmas's that Blair and I have been together we have always gone out to dinner on Christmas Eve. It's something I love and I was so excited that we could go again. We went to Olive Garden and had a fabulous dinner! Aren't these boys cute?
We got home and put Gavin down to bed and then watched White Christmas. I love that movie. It really does bring in the Christmas spirit!
Traditionally in my family Christmas morning would begin with waiting for mom and dad to wake up, breakfast, scripture study, AND a prayer before we could go into the hidden living room to open presents and eat candy. My parents tortured us by making us wait and we plan to do the same with our babies :-) Gavin didn't mind this year, he's still just a little too young to understand. Right before breakfast we accidentally asked him if he was ready to open presents. His reply?
"Mmmm, no. Pancakes first."
We got a good laugh out of that!
Making breakfast, which was french toast instead of pancakes, but Gavin didn't mind
We all got just what we wanted this year, no returns, no exchanges, it really was so perfect!

Blair surprised me with a maternity pillow. Oh. My. Goodness. I don't think I can describe the amazingness of it! It's helped so much! It's all curled up under me in this one so you can't really see it, but it is awesome!
Gavin got a new teddy bear which he was excited about when he opened it, but hasn't even looked at it since. His old chewed up one is his true friend, we may never be able to get it from him! He also got new ABC blocks which he just loves! He loves to build his "towas" and often brings them in to show us how cool they are. He's so sweet!
After our time as a family that morning we went to Pleasant Grove to visit with both families. We got to talk to my brother Ryan who is in D.C. on his mission. He looked and sounded fantastic! It was so good to talk to him, we sure do miss him! We had games and a delicious lunch, it was so good to spend time with everyone! We then went over to the Gibb's to spend the evening. Gavin had several more presents to open, thank you so much to everyone for making him so happy! He's still talking about all his "pwesents!" Blair got a great new V-neck sweater and I got a waffle iron, yay! Baby Girl even got a gift, her very first outfit from Uncle Kyle, it is adorable! We had a delicious dinner and spent the evening visiting, it was so nice and relaxing! It was a beautiful day! We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a great New Year's as well!
