Valentines Day

February was my last month of being pregnant and so my doctor appointments were every week, and every week my doctor would rudely tell me that it could be any day now that she comes. That is simply something you do not tell an 8 month pregnant woman. I was driven crazy all month thinking that she was coming! On Friday February 7th Blair surprised me with an overnight stay at the Blue Boar Inn in Midway to celebrate Valentines for the following weekend. I was SO excited! I also had a pedicure scheduled for right before we left, it was going to be heavenly! The ENTIRE week while waiting to go I had endless amounts of Braxton Hicks contractions and I was constantly fearing that I was about to go into labor and miss out on the fabulous weekend ahead. I didn't actually go into labor, but still, it was stressful. It wouldn't have been nearly as bad if the doctor hadn't kept insisting and expecting that she would come anytime. Annoying.
Anyway.
Saturday came and we headed down to Pleasant Grove to drop off Gavin. My sister gave me a deep conditioning treatment on my hair and then styled it for me. Then she and I went to get pedicures. Talk about feeling pampered! It was just what I needed! Then Blair and I left and had a delicious dinner at Carraba's (yum!) and then left for the Inn. It was such a nostalgic trip for us. This is the same place we stayed the night we got married. It was so fun reminiscing on that beautiful day and how excited we were to finally be husband and wife, it was so sweet!
The Inn is done in a Swiss theme, it's really a beautiful place! Here is Blair trying on a traditional Swiss hat,

Blair convinced me to play a game of chess while we were there. He talks me into it probably once every other year. I lost terribly but I did get him into check once, so I'm okay with it.

The most incredible thing about this place is the breakfast. It is a 5 course breakfast which includes a huge entree and dessert, it is fabulous and by far the fanciest place we've ever eaten!

I've always thought those who take pictures of their food are weird. Not anymore.
It was incredibly delicious! Mine was the french toast and Blair got the steak and eggs. The bottom is the lavender lemon scone we had for dessert. Wow!

When the chef came over to say hello the first thing he mentioned was that he was glad we were still here and that it must have been the other guest who went into labor last night. Hehehe, I'm so glad it wasn't me!
Blair is so incredibly wonderful for planning this for me, I love him so much!
