So Gavin is about 19 1/2 months so why not do an update :-) So as of 2 days ago, he is no longer using a bottle and in the coming months we hope to get him out of his crib too. We hope to, although nothing is certain, start potty training as soon as he's two so he has to be in a big boy bed. All these changes are making me sad. Our little baby is so grown up!
Nursery. Ahhh...Nursery. He does NOT like it. We can actually hear him screaming from the classroom we're in, it's so lovely. The nursery leaders are really great though. They offered to keep him even though he cries but it makes us feel so bad! We'll be trying the -spend time at first but slowly spend less and less time each week- method, because there is just nothing else to do. We're hoping that with the new year starting that he'll be more comfortable because there will be fewer kids in there.
His talking has improved by leaps and bounds in just the last week or so! He now tries the words we ask him to say, or at least thinks about trying them. He also calls us, his parents, mommy and daddy! We are loving it! His words include: yes or uh - huh (in a very high pitched voice, haha!), no, ruff, moo, oohh oohh (for a monkey), shoe, this (dis), and ow. His sign language words include: more, please, thank you, and all done. He is adorable, I love the way he talks! He loves to "jump" and stomp his feet. He'll sing now which is adorable and he is almost always telling us a story. Reading is still one of his most favorite things and he also enjoys watching his Baby Neptune show. His eating is also improved a lot! Baby food is almost completely gone, we just use it as a filler now in case he eats dinner early or he doesn't eat enough, woo-hoo!! He doesn't like to share his toys, we're working on it :-) He loves to color and play with his trucks and his tools. His favorite thing by far lately has been sitting on anything that is high off the ground i.e. the table, the washer and dryer, and the counter. He doesn't like the cold! And he still gives some of the best hugs and kisses in town! We love him more and more everyday, he is just the cutest!
