Updates

It's strange to think that these will be the last updates we do as a family of 3!
Blair has been doing really well in school lately. He recently got a perfect score on a tough quiz and was the only one in the class to do so. I am so proud of him! We are so glad that our baby girl decided not to come this week (so far) because Blair has been swamped preparing for a group presentation and a test. She'll be free and clear to come anytime after this week :-) Blair has been able to take the train to school which has sure saved us a lot of gas money. Gavin will constantly ask where daddy is and no matter what I say he replies "Ummm, no mom. He on da train." Blair works so hard, we love him so much!
Today I am exactly 2 weeks away from my due date. The doctor is very confusing at this point because he tells me to expect a late February delivery but to also prepare because she could be here anytime. Sheesh. I don't think he understands how badly that stresses me out. I've had to reeeeally focus on the fact that my due date is in fact the 27th and that I will probably go past it. Even if I don't, it helps to think that way! The last 6 weeks or so have been very uncomfortable. I don't remember feeling this way with Gavin and I've really struggled to stay positive. She moves constantly and it's slowly gotten more painful as she has grown. As uncomfortable as it gets though I am truly grateful to be able to always feel her and know she is well. We love her so much and cannot wait to meet her!
Gavin is quite simply, adorable. His new thing is that he loves to sing. Everything he sings is in the Alphabet Song tune, but he's making up words and using numbers when he sings it. He sings about his toys and his teddy bear and the sounds that the letters make. It is so cute! I've tried several times to catch it on film but he  stops when he knows I'm around. He is always talking to his toys as well. He will ask his "lettas" (letters) why they're sad or mad, or tell us he's glad that they're happy and good. He tells his teddy bear that it's naughty to yell and that he needs to stand in the "kwana" (corner). I love the way he pronounces his R's. "Fouwa" (four) "Douwa" (door) "Mouwa" (more) and so on. The little twang he adds at the end is just too cute!
Gavin is learning to be very polite. He will almost always ask for things by saying "May I have some juice please mom?" It's a great thing but it actually makes it really hard to ever say no. He just asks for everything so nicely! The other thing I love is that he'll often tell us what he's going to do before he does it. He'll say "I play with my numba's and letta's now K mom!" "I jump off the couch, K dad!" Everything ends with a high pitched "K mom" or "K dad" and it is so cute. Here are a couple of the recent quotes:
"S is for snail mom."
"You're right Gavin! I don't like snails."
"I don't like snails too. Daddy likes snails at da zoo!"

"What did you dream about last Gavin?"
"Monkeys at the zoo. Teddy bear dream about zebras at the zoo. Diapa rag dream about snakes at the zoo."
He makes us laugh every day. We sure love him!
Gavin decided that under Baby Girls crib would be a great place to nap -

Holding on for dear life!
All the sudden he's become afraid of being up high, but he still loves to be on daddy's shoulders!
He's such a smarty pants and he's proud!
Gavin was in his room playing and I had fallen asleep on the couch. When I woke up he was sitting on the chair and said "Mommy sleep on da couch. Gavin sleep on da chair. Mommy awake now?"
Going sledding in January for Aunt Joy's birthday. He really did have a fun time!
Getting creative with his fish puzzle. He loves this puzzle and does it multiple times a day!
He finally sang the alphabet for me and it's pretty cute!

We'll be back again soon, next time with a little girl to dote on as well!

Loved the whole thing, but especially Gavin singing the alphabet backwards.
