Lucy Update

Our beautiful little Lucy is 2 months old!
Look at the roundness!
Lucy was blessed on April 20th, 2014, it was a beautiful blessing and beautiful day! My sister in law Jen took her pictures in her blessing dress at the Mt. Timpanogos temple, they turned out perfect!
It's hard to know where to begin. Lucy is now 2 months and 1 week old and we love her so much, she is such a wonderful addition to our family! That being said let me add, it has been 2 months and 1 week since we've had a good nights sleep. This baby girl has kept us on our toes. She has no routine which of course you expect with a new one, but after two months we were really hoping there would be some small inkling of a routine.
Nope.
Well, I guess that's not entirely true. The schedule she has mostly stuck to is napping until 8pm, awake until 10:30pm, put down for bed and is fast asleep for a whole half hour! Wakes up at 11, back down for the night at 1:30 or so. And then, almost without fail, around 2 or 2:30 Gavin will wake up. It is exhausting. I swear, they already have some sort of mental connection. When one is sleeping the other one will ALWAYS wake up. We're working on it and I really hope that in the next couple of weeks we'll be on a better schedule. She gives us hope every once in a while when she sleeps for 8 or 9 or even 12 hours straight. Of course those hours are between 2am and 10am, but hey, we'll take what we can get! She really is such a good baby and we know she can sleep, we're just trying to adjust the hours!
It helped quite a bit when we stopped swaddling her. When we would put her down to bed all swaddled she would squirm until her arms were free, which would almost always wake her up. She now sleeps like this -
Or like this -
It's pretty funny :-)
She is a very, very noisy baby. She grunts, coos, groans, moans, growls, gurgles and smacks all the day and night long. It's really adorable, but it's a little difficult to sleep through sometimes. She's sleeping in our walk in closet right now and even though we close the door, it's quite noisy with her in there. It's a good things she's so incredibly cute!
She loves bath time!

And amazingly enough, Gavin likes to help. I'm so glad!
She's such a happy baby who really only fusses when she's hungry. She is starting to like to cuddle! Yay! When she's on laying on a shoulder she'll wrap her arm around and hold onto your shirt. I love it so much. I also love it when she's in her daddy's arms, there is nothing more sweet!
She is such a sweetheart and we adore her! I also absolutely love to dress her up! Check out the cuteness

She is so much fun! We have loved having a baby in the house again, she brings such a wonderful spirit to our home! We love you sweet one!
(It does go fuzzy in the middle, sorry!)

Wow, that picture of her in front of the temple is amazing! What a beautiful girl. I'm sad we missed the blessing, hope it was a wonderful day. I feel for you guys and for Gavin. I think having a new baby is always an adjustment, even when everyone has the best response possible. When Logan was born, Emma (who had responded WONDERFULLY to Benson) had a hard time adjusting for several months. But like you said, eventually she really did adjust, and it didn't take long at all for her to love Logan and love trying to comfort him, make him smile, etc. Good luck with the sleep thing, I hope you all get some more sleep soon!
