Holidays!

We'll finish off 2014 by starting with Halloween.
Gavin was so cute this year! He was Superman again and Lucy was a Ladybug. It was a lot of fun dressing them up! Gavin had a great time at the trunk-or-treat and that night we got together with friends for games, it was so fun! In the week or so before Halloween a few people asked him what he was going to dress up as and he had no idea what they were talking about. We've tried to explain but he wasn't really grasping it. In the week or so after Halloween when people would ask he would proudly shout "Superman!" I think he's got it for good now! Aren't they sweet?
We had a great Thanksgiving! The Saturday before we had my family's annual party filled with delicious food, awesome games, and of course the great ugly sweater contest. I think Blair would have definitely won
But Lance's sweater took the cake. Or the donut.
There were some great ones this year! Love my family!
Blair had the weekend off after Thanksgiving and it was awesome. On Friday we took the kids on the train up to Temple Square to watch them turn on the lights. I've only been to see the lights one other time and it was freezing! This time the weather was seriously perfect! It was probably 60 degrees at least (very weird for November) and there was no wind or anything. It was so fun and the kids loved it! The pictures with the lights actually on did not turn out, but they were so beautiful!

Christmas was wonderful! Christmas Eve morning we cleaned the house like mad and when we finished it was time to make gingerbread houses! I think this will be a new tradition for us, it was so fun and Gavin loved it!
That night we went to dinner, it was delicious! We love these two!
Christmas morning began with our traditional breakfast which Gavin was SO excited about! I'd say that makes two years in a row where he's more excited about food than presents :-)
We read the Christmas story in the bible and then watched the video the Church put out a while ago. Gavin really enjoyed it! Then it was time for presents!
Hooray for new Yellowstone sweaters from Aunt Joy! They are sooo nice and we all got one!

Gavin and Lucy got a new slide! We covered it with a sheet so that Gavin could "open" it and let me tell you, he was so excited! He was jumping up and down and climbing all over it! Then we asked him -
"Gavin, do you like the slide??"
"Umm...sure."
Talk about enthusiasm! Thankfully actions spoke louder than words in this case!
Gavin also got a new Duplo Number Train and he has absolutely loved it!

Even Lucy was excited about her present this year, for about 5 seconds. She got a little owl. It was so cute though. Her little giggles and smiles are so adorable! She was fascinated by the wrapping paper too!
After our fun fun morning we headed off to visit family. Here they are all ready to go. Pictures with both Gavin and Lucy don't get much better than this these days :-)
We stopped by my parents first so that we could be sure to talk to Ryan. It was fabulous to see and talk to him again, we sure miss him! The kids got to play with their cousins which they always love! They are so adorable!
Next it was off to Blair's parents for the rest of the evening. We had a delicious dinner and then it was time for presents again, lucky kiddos!
Lucy plays peek-a-boo any chance she gets, silly goose!
 Hooray for BYU!
Gavin was enthralled with building towers with Uncle Kyle. They played for a long time, it was great!
It was such a great Christmas and we are so grateful to everyone for everything! We love our little family!
New Years Eve was awesome! That day we got to meet Blair's mom and his sister's family at Scheels. We all got to ride the ferris wheel and the kids got to go bowling, it was so fun! That night my parents let us put our kids to bed at their house so we could go to my brother's house for the evening. We had a fabulous, kid-free night. Wow! We had a delicious dinner and stayed up playing games until midnight. Then we got to bring the New Year in with a kiss! It was so fun!
And those are our holidays in one very long post! We have so much to be grateful for. We love our families so much and are so grateful for their never ending support. We look forward to a great new year!
