Lucy Update

In four days our sweetest Lucy will no longer be 10 months old. Wow. This is another loooong post full of pictures of our girl. She is growing up so fast!
Our Lucy Noelle has the sweetest spirit and the most adorable personality! 10 months has been such a fun age!
She was such a trooper for these pictures. It was sooo cold! Lucy is a busy busy busy girl who loves to be involved. She adores being adored and tries to catch the eye of anyone who looks her way. She is still not the smiley-est baby and we still have to stand on our heads to make her laugh, but boy does she love the attention! Lucy has seven teeth - four on top and three on the bottom. They're a little goofy, but they just add to her sweetness!
Lucy still loves the dishwasher! She has a sixth sense for it because the minute you open it, no matter where she is in the house, she makes her way into the kitchen. And boy is she helpful :-)

You'll notice that she is free standing in the above picture; she is a pro! Not only will she stand right up in the middle of the room, but she has begun to take steps. On December 30th she started taking her first steps, and two days ago on January 15th she took about 6 unassisted steps at Grandma and Grandpa Gibb's house. Even though it makes us a little sad, it really is amazing to watch her learn and progress so quickly. This picture was taken at Scheels, just one day after she took her first couple of steps :-)
Lucy was loving pillows for a while and it was too cute! Anytime they were on the ground she would crawl into the middle of them and lay down. She was in heaven!

Lucy's favorite toy right now is daddy's new screw driver set. Any time the closet door is open those are what she goes for!
At 10 (almost 11) months old Lucy weighs 22 lbs 4 oz. She is an armload! She is a great eater. She loves baby food - mostly green beans but she's pretty good with almost anything. She loves cheese, rice, potatoes, graham crackers, and apples. She also loves to share our smoothies in the morning! When she see's that we have one she'll crawl over and start smacking her lips, it is adorable! She is so stinkin' cute when she knows a bottle is coming. She watches intensely while it's being made and then flaps her arms until she gets a hold of it. She loves her binky and right now, we do too. It honestly brings her a lot of comfort. It will be quite the task when the time comes to take it away! Lucy is sleeping a little bit better. We've finally gotten serious about letting her cry it out when she wakes up during the night. And the only way we've gotten through it is to turn on her white noise machine and the fan in the bathroom, move our mattress into the living room and close the door. It's helped a lot I think. Her wanting a bottle in the middle of the night was becoming a habit rather than a need and we just couldn't handle it anymore. She still wakes up during the night but it's not quite the production it used to be, thank goodness! Lucy loves to clap. All we need to say is "Yay Lucy!" and she starts to clap, it is so cute! She loves to give kisses. She goes around from me to Blair to Gavin just giving kisses for as long we let her! She may not be very cuddly but she gives the sweetest kisses! She loves to be chased around the room and she absolutely loves peek a boo! Her favorite time to escape is right before bedtime - just before we put her jammies on. It's one of Gavin's favorite things too!
We love how much Lucy loves Gavin! She brightens up when she see's him, it is just the sweetest thing. She loves to play in his room and will stay in there for as long as Gavin does. The minute he leaves she does too. She is always busy with something!
Sometimes playing is just too much and she must lie down!
Gavin plays in the bathtub often. About a month and half ago or so we put Lucy in there with him and they played for almost an hour! It was so adorable to see them in there and to watch them (or listen to them) play. I got so much done! They are just too cute together!
You know when Lucy starts to get tired because she'll stop and rest her head on whatever is close by. It is so very sweet. I was sitting with her in Relief Society (1:00pm church makes her miss her nap, poor thing!) and the lady next to me had on a velvet dress. Lucy loved the feel of it and after a couple of minutes she just laid down on her lap and snuggled in. Silly goose! Lucy is a lot feistier than Gavin ever was. She has the TIGHTEST grip. She won't let go of anything without putting up a fight!
When you do manage to get something away from her she clouds right up and cries!
The last few months have been a lot of fun! She has the sweetest face. We can't get enough of it!
She loves to climb! My goodness. That makes two for two for our kids, they are so much like their daddy!
Lucy loves the bathroom and has been drawn to it since she started to crawl. With any given possible chance, she will play in the toilet. Yuck. If the lid is closed (which we diligently strive for) she goes for the next best thing - toilet paper! We catch her playing with it a lot and she almost always speeds out of the bathroom when we do. We've managed to catch her once to take a picture -
Lucy loves to be under the table! She can still stand under it without bonking her head too much, but mostly she loves to sit. I was in our room folding laundry and realized she had been gone for a minute. I found her just sitting under the table, happy as a clam :-)
Lucy is almost always up on her tippy-toes. She mostly does it when she's reaching for something, and I love how it makes so little difference but she tries anyway! Sometimes she just does it for fun, it is so cute!
Lucy almost always has something in her mouth and it's usually one of my scrunchies. It's such a funny little quirk and it happens a lot!
We love our sweetest little girl! She makes us so happy! It is hard to believe than in one short month she will be a year old. Where does the time go? We love our beautiful Lucy!
